Monthly Playlist: April 2016

The playlist for April is here!

A bit cheeky as the main part of it is a compilation album, Brown Acid Trip, of Hard (Blues) Rock singles that I’ve bumped into. It caught my attention because of Josefus, I love this band. Their track here is refreshingly different than what I heard on their first albums. Lyrics wise, it’s a killer. Snow, Lenny Drake and Zebra are other tracks standing out on this comp.

And I finally (!) watched the docu ‘A Band Called Death‘, about a band named… wait for it… Death! Playing Punk Rock before Punk Rock was even there!

Now here the interesting thing is Pink Floyd.
I am mostly a fan of their early stuff with Syd Barrett, when they were doing poppy psychedelic stuff and a couple of tracks and albums after his departure. Up to 1977 something like that.

The Meters is courtesy of Adrian Mouat, who posted a track of theirs on Twitter and made me promptly remember this brilliant track.

Monthly Playlist: January 2016

I have quite a library of music and most of the time I just play from it with my music player set on shuffle.  Beginning January I thought of making a monthly playlist of earworms or songs that caught my ear during a shuffle play. Then came the idea of posting it. Maybe you’ll find something you haven’t heard and will enjoy.

I appreciate various genres of music. I have obviously my favourites. These will most likely come through as I share the playlists here.

Here’s the one from January. I’ll see to it to post them more timely!

January was marked by the passing of Bowie. Naturally, two songs of his are present. They are the ones I personally enjoy playing on the guitar too.
